The Campaign

 

UKTV broadcasts a number of highly popular shows with huge fan followings and they wanted to capitalise on the great UGC and Mentions those shows receive online.

 

On their Dave channel, Red Dwarf is one show with an almost cult-like following. To celebrate the return of Series 12, UKTV ran a 2 part campaign with EchoMany; A Retweet to Subscribe offering, alongside a Surprise and Delight campaign.

How It Worked

 

 

@DaveChannel promoted a Call to Action tweet, which encouraged users to Retweet their posting to “Apply to join the Jupiter Mining Corporation”.

Users were then automatically subscribed to receive weekly updates from @DaveChannel, which would come in the form of personalised Crew Badge images that showed them gradually being promoted through the ranks of the Red Dwarf crew.

Along with these personalised images were links to exclusive trailer content for upcoming episodes, as well as reminders to watch the show.

Alongside the Retweet to Subscribe campaign, @DaveChannel’s Social Media Team were also able to log into the EchoMany web-based dashboard, hand select fan tweets and reply to these directly with personalised videos. These videos incorporated the fan’s name along with their tweet copy.
