Santander decided on a “Santa&deer” theme for 2016’s festive campaign, launching a bank ‘in collaboration with Santa’. Jenson Button and Jessica Ennis-Hill launched Santa&deer with a fun video, dressed as a pantomime reindeer.
The also ran a Prize Draw called “12 Toys of Christmas”. The activity worked by partnering with Hamley’s to identify 12 of the most popular toys of the year, then giving those toys away in a prize draw over the first 12 days of December. On the final day, one of each toy is donated to a charity – with 2016’s charity being Barnardos.
To support the campaign, EchoMany proposed to deliver personalised videos natively to prize draw entrants.
How It Worked
”Call To Action’ posts on Santander’s official Facebook and Twitter accounts instruct fans to answer simple festive questions, along with the #Santadeer hashtag in order to enter the prize draws.
EchoMany automatically pulls through the users’ profile picture and name to generate a personalised asset, live and in the cloud.
The user receives their personalised “Good Luck!” message, with their photo and name incorporated, as a direct native reply on their platform of entry.
Santander are able to manually curate the generation and sending of personalised “Congratulations!’ videos to winners each day.
