Celebrating a shortlist for the Best Use of Social Media!
On Friday, we were to delighted to discover our campaign for the theatrical launch of Alien Covenant with 20th Century Fox has been shortlisted for the UK Social Media Communications Awards in the entertainment category. You may have heard about the campaign when it launched, as it was covered by John McCarthy at The Drum.
The wider objective of the European campaign was to create buzz ahead of the release of the latest instalment to the Alien film franchise. The initial challenge EchoMany faced in achieving this goal was to ensure the blockbuster film engaged with and stood out to cinemagoers; irrespective of the legacy of the long-standing anthology. A secondary objective was to reach out to the younger generation of cinemagoers who had no connection with the original trilogy.
We worked with 20th Century Fox’s digital team to deliver multiple beats of personalised content in the 2 weeks leading up to the premiere of Alien: Covenant, with international activity across UK, Spain, and Italy. As a result, the campaign achieved 135% of targeted subscribers achieved across three countries and 534% increase in Twitter engagement.
